Did you buy a fancy camera only to be confused by all the knobs and buttons so you just use your phone instead?
This class is for you!
As a graduate of The Camera Course you will:
• Understand the purpose for all your photography gear (lenses, camera body, memory cards, reflectors, flash, etc.)
• Know the difference between JPEG and RAW and how to keep your files safe
• Be able to focus your camera on a specific object and know HOW your focus modes work
• Start recognizing the quality of light around you, whether indoors or outdoors
• Master the rules of composition and know when to follow them as well as when to break them
• Have a grasp on your shooting modes and how to manipulate them to achieve desired results
• Have an in-depth understanding of the three elements of the exposure triangle
• Know how to read your light meter and when to ignore it
• Manipulate your depth of field to create beautiful bokeh (and know what those weird words mean!)
• Shoot in full manual by the end of the workshop
• Understand terms like Kelvin, white balance, and luminance, to name a few
“This course is BRILLIANT and helped me find my confidence, style, and justify that I can take photos ‘just because I like to.’ Tove is awesome!”

Save your time and money
I have a Fine Arts degree and spent hours in the darkroom learning about photography. But I STILL had to teach myself most of the lessons in this workshop. Photography isn’t just for artists and you don’t need to be a tech geek to understand it. I’m passionate about teaching The Camera Course in a way that serves all different learning styles; breaking big concepts into bite-sized pieces. On top of that, you’ll have access to continued learning and support long after you’ve graduated from class. I’ll be here to guide you every step of the way and cheer you on as you take your photos from okay to OH HEY! Interested? Nervous? Ready to jump in? Let’s do it!
“This is a great course for beginners and any level experience with photography. I just wish I could have stayed the whole day!”
- Rachel C.
What class will you pick?
If you just want to be able to point and click your camera while getting decent photos, the Beginning Workshop would be perfect for you. We’ll touch on some of the shooting modes (Portrait, Landscape, etc.) while focusing mostly on how to compose a beautiful shot.
If you truly want to take charge of your camera and get those Instagram-worthy pictures, the Beginning & Intermediate Workshop is for you. Building off of what you learned in the Beginning workshop, we’ll pause for lunch and then walk you through the process of shooting in manual mode. I promise it’s not as complicated as you think - I’ve taught these lessons to my 9 year old daughter to make sure anyone can grasp the concepts!
Still mulling over your options or have more questions? Check out my FAQ page here or shoot me a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can hide in the bathroom from my children.
“I was quite nervous about my skill and lack of talent. Turns out I had nothing to worry about; [Tove] helped bring out my confidence throughout the class.”
